Dear Guest.
Today sees the opening to the public of Sights and Pints, a brand new travelling blog with a slightly different take on sightseeing that most other blogs you will encounter.
This blog is about experiencing the history and culture of the inner cities of the world, while also enjoying the atmosphere and company of the locals and their brews in the nearby pubs. It is about taking the time to really enjoy and discuss what you have seen, instead of running around all the time, taking 10 photos of this and 20 of that before hopping on the sightseeing bus to visit the next castle or museum.
The first article on the site is a suggested walk around the inner East End of London, culminating with a visit to three amazing riverside pubs. Soon to follow are similar articles about Glasgow Center and West End, the Edinburgh Royal Mile and Birmingham’s City Centre and Jewellery Quarter. An article about Sights and Pints in Copenhagen is also on the way, so stay tuned.
If you have any great ideas, special requests etc. please let us know, and we will take this into consideration when further developing this blog, and when considering which cities and areas to try out next time. Just keep in mind, that all articles on this site are based on actual visits to the places mentioned! You can comment on this page or write us directly.
We are also looking for contributions from writers/travellers who feel like they can identify with the purpose and style of the blog. Please send us a direct e-mail if you think this could be for you!
Nothing left to say now except for: Share, enjoy, come back and let yourself inspire. Happy travelling – happy sightseeing – enjoy the beer!
On behalf of Sights and Pints,
Thomas
